**A Chenille Duvet Cover – A Look From The 40’s**

One of my favorite styles of decorating is the shabby chic look out of vintage fabrics. I am a baby boomer from the 50’s and I love chenille; so I shouldn’t be surprised that I find vintage bedspreads and make more than one chenille duvet cover for my bed. I have a down comforter instead of a bedspread and I wanted to update this great chenille look.

Chenille – Is A Vintage Fabric

Chenille is getting harder to find and it isn’t inexpensive, but the look is worth it. I love the puffy florals and the caterpillar fuzzy motifs. I just take a plain sheet and sew it to the bottom of the chenille spread. It works great and covers the comforter with ease. I can wash it when I need to, protect the comforter and get the look I love. My favorite is pink as it fades it gets even prettier. It goes with all of the other decorating I have done in my bedroom and I love falling asleep at night with the fuzzy chenille fabric nestling around my neck. If you feel the need to touch nostalgia, try a chenille duvet in the bedroom.
