Your crib bedding is chosen according to the nursery and it is usually decorated in a theme of your choice, but it can be just a favorite color or done with vintage fabrics. When it comes to bedding for the crib, you want to think about safety first and foremost. The bedding should fit the mattress properly so it won’t slide off and get around the baby’s face. You may or may not want a bumper for the crib, many don’t recommend it because that is one less thing to come loose and be near the baby’s head. An old bassinette style bed is lovely, but safety again is the issue. Newborns are ok in a bassinette, but then soon should be in a safe crib.

Cribs - Should Be New

Make sure you don’t use the old cribs from when we were children. Those old things are outdated and should be thrown out. Cribs today are very safe and will give you lots of confidence that the baby is safe and sound. Bedding can be whatever theme you wish, just make sure it is soft and comfortable. Good quality baby bedding shouldn’t pill, but it might. The baby won’t like sleeping on pills so try something that is 100% cotton and can be washed in hot water to keep it germ free. Bedding for the crib should be cute, safe and comfortable.
