I love vintage fabric and have antiques throughout the house so I go with a more shabby chic style. I use old chenille bedspreads and create unique duvet covers with flat sheets sewn on the bottom. If this isn’t for you; why not an animal print fabric for the bed linens and a solid duvet on top? If you like elegance and sophistication, take a matelasse or jacquard bedspread woven with elegance. How about hand embroidery done on a favorite Belgian linen duvet cover with initials for a personal touch?

If Decorating – Let Creativity Shine

If you are creative like I am, use paint to create bedding. Paint the motif you like and heat set it to ensure the paint will stay when you wash it. Fabric paint is really soft and you will be able to sleep easily on it. If you would rather, just paint the duvet with individual artistry and use conventional sheets. Don’t stop the paint on the fabric. Decorate the walls with the same motif throughout or just at the border and create a complete look. Use imagination and you will have a bedroom that is fit for a queen.
