Rustic Bedding – Keep The Flow Of the Home Consistent

The one thing most of the rustic bedding styles have in common is the color. You will usually find the rich earthy tones or darker colors in flannel sheets, and comforters. We are building a log home and the most natural thing for me to use in the bedroom would be a style of bedding that’s rustic. I can’t see contemporary bedding there. It would be all wrong for the rest of the home. You want the interior design scheme to flow from the bedding on through the bedroom. I could use smaller prints and lighten them up a little, or my flannel bedding and comforters could be plaid in lighter colors.

Dark Rustic Colors Of Bedding – Isn’t For Me

I get depressed if the colors of my bedroom are too dark so I have to come up with a way to make the bedding rustic without the deep dark colors. I love creamy colors and the yellow color of maize so I may incorporate that into my flannels or other sheets and accents.

I also can’t make the bedding rustic with moose or deer or any other type of animals. I do not care for that rustic of a look. I want bedding that is a little more sophisticated. I think I have my work cut out for me. I am very crafty so I may have to make my own window treatments, and go with a mix of small print flannels and plaids in colors that I like. I could also add some denim. I will have to do some research to make my home flow with the same décor throughout; rustic or not.
