Southwest bedding gets you back to earth

I get a pretty distinct picture in my mind when I think of southwest bedding. I can see the terracotta and smell the earthy tones with this ancient styles bedroom decor. You don’t have to live in Arizona to appreciate the beauty of southwest’s bedding styles. Native American symbols abound. Wild horses, Kokopelli, and cactus are a few other motifs that will easily be round in this style of bedroom décor.

A Navajo blanket would be a good addition for bedding with southwest styling. These come on various colors, not just dark and earthy. I have seen colors for a desert bedroom décor that were pale blue with taupe. It was quite striking and unexpected. Plants look well in this type of bedroom also, especially those found in the desert. You might also want to include something celestial for ding set such as the sun or moon, or falling stars.

All the colors of the earth in brown and tans make for a neutral backdrop. Bedding of southwest colors is calming and warm. You feel like you want to stay there and be one with nature. When using a southwestern style for ding décor start with color and go from there. You may want just terracotta sheets and everything else could be tan.
